Diocesan Dances

Diocesan dances are hosted by parishes or schools and are scheduled in the annual planning meeting in May. If the school/parish event is not on the Calendar, the mixer/dance may not be a diocesan supported event. Four to Five seasonal junior-high (middle school) dances are recommended in a given year: two from August to December and two from January to May. First requests are given priority if dates conflict. Host parishes provide structure by organizing a team made up of parish adults, young adults, DJ.

Parents are encouraged to serve as chaperones, to be involved in planning, and to use this opportunity to talk with children about expected behavior, peer pressure, setting boundaries, and appropriate dress.
