Preparation
Our Bishop
Congratulations on your engagement! As you prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage, may this special time in your lives be filled with peace, joy and God's grace and blessing.

In order to help you understand and live out God’s plan for marriage, you and your fiancé are invited to attend Pre-Cana, a rich and exciting marriage preparation program serving the Diocese of Tulsa. The goal of Pre-Cana is to present a summary of Catholic teaching on God’s plan for marriage and to offer practical suggestions for embracing it in your own lives.

The workshop will cover many important aspects of Catholic married life: the importance of faith and prayer, the sacramental nature of marriage, the joy of sexual honesty, the benefits of Natural Family Planning, parenting and the gift of children, Christian finances, effective communication and problem solving skills, understanding expectations, spirituality of stewardship and interfaith marriage.

Catholic clergy, married couples and specially trained lay leaders will make presentations. There will be opportunities throughout the day for group discussion as well as opportunities for you and your fiancé to reflect privately on the information presented.

While there is obvious benefit in taking your marriage preparation classes in person, if you are unable to attend Pre-Cana, you may take the online class at www.CatholicMarriagePrep.com. Catholic Marriage Preparation, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the building of strong marriages.
